We are home. And I’m glad we have a big hot water tank because we all showered as if we had never felt anything so wonderful. It was extra nice since we had anticipated a snow mobile ride but three of us skied and the dog got a good walk out of it. Bill took a couple of loads to the car and Carly went with him then, to pack up in the car while he went to get Kristi, her friend and the dog. I locked up the cottage and started to ski. As soon as they got on, the sled flipped and put Kristi and the dog in the snow. Back on. Halfway to the car parking lot the snow mobile decided to quit. We skied and he stayed behind with the seat open and tools out. By the time we arrived he came with his snow mobile on his sled- being pulled by the taxi- snow mobile. Oh well, he should do an overhaul on it this summer I guess..
Our strategy when coming home is to unpack right away, start piling stuff in front of the basement door so that we all bring something with us down there for stowing away or putting into the laundry room as we are going to have a shower. (We have a bath tub upstairs and a shower on the basement floor )Now the washing machine is working on the first load, the dishwasher is going after a smoked ham dinner and Emma is passed out on the couch after she got to mooch some soft ice cream from us. The year’s first soft ice cream!
The evening is going to be all about enjoying being at home. Candles, knitting, internet, my audiobook. The girls are not to be seen or heard; they are probably on their beds in front of their Macs
