Whenever the wind comes from the west we get hard and sudden gusts of wind in this valley. Certain parts of town gets more than others and where our house is located usually gets it the worst. Two days ago I had to lay the lawn furniture down on the porch so it wouldn take “walks” on its own during the night. The big umbrella got bent last year, it was new and nice and we have learned our lesson: Put it in the shed whenever it’s not in use..
The ashes from the volcano on Iceland has put all air traffic in Europe on the ground for now and on Thursday we could actually smell the sulphur! On the news they said they could smell it as far south as Bergen. We are south of Bergen, but since the valley is turned westwards and the winds came from the west we got it, too.
My day won’t be in the yard, that’s for sure. I have promised Kristi we’ll take a trip uptown and do some shopping. I also have to spend some time on my assignment for the English course since my study day was spent at another course..
But for the remainder: slow weekend entailing radio, good food, knitting, newspapers (and some laudry ) In aother words: Indoor activities -or absence thereof 😀
