Sometimes I can be really efficient when I come home from work. I get my coat off, unpack the groceries, feed the dog, start supper and start a load of laudry as well as get rid of the dog hair, all the while supper is getting ready on the stove. I just stir and turn and poke and check in between it all. I go along with the burst of energy before I sort of cave in to a coffee in the recliner after supper. Then my stomach is full, the coffee is hot, the chair is unbelievably soft and welcoming…. and I might end up staying there all night!
I had one of those efficient afternoons yesterday. There were crumbs on the table, I was just going to get rid of them, too, as I already had the vacuum cleaner out .. There was a little doily on the table. Then it wasn’t there anymore!
I found it inside the vacuum cleaner bag.. Now , that’s efficient!

Decision made to knit. Obstructions in the way of finishing a simple collar in a couple of hours: an uptown walk with the dog, a trip to the grocery store, a chat on facebook, a talk on Skype, some checking of internet links I was given…
Thank goodness there was a silly no-brain show I could watch on TV. That way I got to knit through that and at least it brought me halfway on the collar:

Kristi has a cold that stubbornly sticks. There is Kleenexes and nose sprays and cough drops and what-not.. All we can do is be patient about it.

We all stayed on at work last night. We ordered pizza and then we got to it; the thing we had talked about for ..yes, years! We went to our different rooms, the arts &crafts room, the woodwork room, the storage room, the science room, and started the sorting, the re-arranging, the throwing-away. I am in charge of the library so I went through the fiction.
I must have thrown away almost a third of the books. It’s starting to look good. After I finish all of it I will be able to do more theme displays and recommendation of books..

We all had sorted a lot of stuff to throw out so the janitor had provided us with a trailor parked outside. We got the kids to help us carry it out this morning . The kids had a hayday rummaging while helping so I believe some of them stuffed a few books in their back packs. If they en up reading them – all the better!! We were there until six o’clock and I still haven’t gotten to the factual literature. Next time..

In the online knitting world it seems like the thing would be to join some kind of Knit-along while watching the Olympics. I have not joined any of it. But I have decided that my Olympic knitting will be this, from Garnstudio:

I am delighted at the fact that as I am having breakfast right before 8 in the morning it’s getting noticeably lighter out.

Oh, it was lovely in every way. Carly and I went for a little skiing, the doggie met all kinds of four legged friends, we had coffee and sweet buns while sitting in the sun, and my sister and brother-in-law came by before going for a ski trip before going to their mothers to visit on their way home tonight.

Now Bill is doing the tremendous job of shoving the snow off the garage roof. It is going to do him and his 14 hip screws in !! And where in the world is he going to put all that snow?? And to think I was the one who started all this because I was getting hesitant about parking there in case it came tumbling down making major dents in my car roof…. me and my mouth!

I better go and make dinner. He might need spoon-feeding by the time he’s halfway done…

I finished the fish last night thanks to a veeeeerrrryyyy long movie we started watching on TV late last night. When we had endured the whole thing it was 01:30 AM- but I was done with the intarsia! Just a few rounds on the top of the neck, then a collar… and the true Not-So-Much-Fun job of putting the puzzle together starts.

We are soon going up to the mountains to get some sun, at least those of us who don’t have a bad cold and homework to do..

I went to the pharmacy, I picked up a pair of new ski poles for Carly, I got groceries for us and a few for mom, had a coffee at mom’s, put away groceries and got laundry hung and started a new load.

I got tulips for the clean living room:

Now we have had chicken fingers, mashed potatoes and salad and the dishwasher is going. No more chores for today. Just knitting, coffee drinking, TV, wine, fire and candles. Aaaahhh!

Every day is the same: grey skies hanging down the hillside.

It’s time for some sun. The Omega3 pills are just NOT the same.. Tomorrow they call for clear skies and sun so we are thinking about lugging skis out and going up there then. Today I will spend cleaning a bit, running a couple of errands- and do some knitting. I think I’m getting more into it again. Last night I got to the last round before starting the face of the fish and taking stitches in on the sides by the shoulders. yey!
