I’m participating in an online knitting cafe… what’d you know.. But it’s nice. I’m having coffee, chocolate, knitting, laptop… and friends online writing to each other.

Fridayyyyy! And I have been so good with my studying! Worked almost the whole day with the assignment that is due on Monday morning. I have sent it in and I am even done with the notes for the oral assignment that’s due at the end of next week!
But now I’m tired. I still don’t seem to have much energy and Istill get out of breath when I walk the stairs or do something practical in the house. Weird, really, since I only have two days of the antibiotics left.
Still I have sworn to myself that by the end of the weekend this house will shine. Every room needs dusting, cleaning and tidying up, laundry must be done and I will get to it task by task with some breaks in between- and some organizing of the other family members. The breaks might be used to go in on Hobbyboden for chatting, they’re organizing a cyber knitting cafe there this weekend, and I have my intasia to work on as well as the shawl for Kristi.
Most of the shopping has been done and we have soup left from yesterday so now I’m going to lay down on the couch for half an hour and enjoy this:

Bill came home with a nose that was running like a leaky faucet, he sneezed all night and went through a mountain of cleenex. I had made soup from stock I cooked last night. It was the day for hot soup, Definetly. We loaded up the fireplace and brought the soup into the living room. Lovely.

I was planning on curling up doing lazy knitting, but the English assignment due Monday morning, pluss the next one due only a week later, drove me into a three-four hour long intense work period that I ended just a half hour ago. That’s me: I can get so caught up that I have a hard time stopping myself.
This is uptown, where I got rear-ended today.

It is actually the building where I went to school for six years as a little girl. And I used to live right across the street here, too. The shot is taken from where we used to have outdoors gymnastics. I learned how to ride a bicycle there. I used to go skating there in the winter. Now it is a parking lot and the social services’ building is there. (“They paved paradise and put up a parking lot”)
The grey skies were practically around our ears today.

Tomorrow is my study day and I intend to review the assignment I worked on today before handing it in. Then I’ll start the next one while I enjoy the fact that I can stay close to the fireplace, the coffeemaker and the Hubby who most likely will sit there sneezing through a few boxes of Kleenex again.
I’m getting close to my bedtime, I can feel it.. I bought a new issue of the Country Living Magazine today but I haven’t opened it yet. Maybe I won’t either. After this posting I’m ready for a warm blanket. Hopefully the stuffy-nosed man beside me doesn’t have too much trouble breathing fairly silently…

First I sit around with pneumonia. Then I get a bit better. Then welts pop up all over and leaves me feeling wiped and sleepy last night. This morning I drove Kristi to school and we got rear-ended by a car as I stopped to let a person cross the street. It was really slick out there since it snowed all day yesterday and during the night. Could’ve happened to anyone. Thank goodness we have expensive insurance! We’ve been at the hospital for x-rays… just in case . But I don’t think it was too much of a whip lash since I had stopped and the car behind was driving really slow, too..

I got up and hopped in the shower this morning- and things were all normal. Sat down to eat breakfast and take the antibiotics together with a glass of orange juice since they said at the pharmacy that I should try and hold the ph- balance in my body so that I wouldn’t get any problems from using these strong pills.. Back in the bathroom I saw that my chest was breaking out in welts and a red rash. Then it spread to my chest and stomach, legs, arms… everywhere except my face (thank god).
I went downstairs, took an allergy pill and went to work thinking I should just turn around and go see the doctor if necessary. It settled down a little after a while and the doc called me. He didn’t think the rash was caused by the antibiotics since it’s the kind I’m on is given to those that might be allergic to penicillin. We agreed I’d take the pills as usual and see if I got any more. I’ve taken it two more times and there’s no more welts now so I’m okay.
Still, I fell asleep after making supper and could feel Kristi putting a blanket on me. I have no energy and is not planning on doing anything tonight! It is snowing outside and in here there’s a fire and wool to cover myself in if I want to…

I left home Monday right after work and drove to Notodden. There I parked my car and took the bus to Oslo. It rained and got dark before I even got there.

I got myself organized at the inn (read: threw my stuff in a heap in the table ) and then met up with a fellow student for dinner at Lorry’s.

After I got back from dinner I…. yes, of course:

The Ipod is my favourite gadget these days nad I like going to bed listening to podcasts.

The next day was a full day at the University College. interesting and intense. I got a hold of a couple of more books I needed to get through the curriculum and bought new sketch books for the girls and myself for visual journaling/drawing.
It rained and rained all day. I walked to the bus station in the rain, I knitted my way to Notodden in the bus while it rained and drove from there and home in pouring rain. Today: snow.

We got up early this morning, got a tray ready for the birthday girl, lit a candle, poured coffee, brought out presents. The three of us- and the dog- went upstairs and sang her the birthday song- like we always do with each other when it’s birthdays.

This is the view from her window this morning:

We’ve had Mom over for supper and birthday celebration coffee.

Mid morning I got my big wallpaper journal book out and did a double spread. Haven’t done that in so long. Tomorrow I’m going to Oslo after school to attend a face-to-face meeting at the University College for my English 2 course. I have to stay overnight in order to get there early enough on Tuesday morning. Bill is at home with kids and dog. When I get to Oslo I’m going to try and find a new small journal book since my second one is filled out now..

I’ve packed a change of clothes, toiletry, IPod and some of the books that we are supposed to have read by now. i’ll be at work as usual tomorrow, then I’ll drive off as soon as I can.

We have made dough for pizzas. the girls are going to vacuum, and I will contribute by ironing a tablecloth. Good thing we had an orange one…

I ventured out this afternoon, picking up Kristi to school, then going grocery shopping with Carly and an organized list in my hand. Dressed and wrapped in wool I was.

It was frosty out there. I stayed in a warm car while Kristi picked up a birthday card for Carly next door to the flower shop (photo). They must be waiting for snow; they’ve got a kick sled for sale.

I don’t know why this photo got so blue, it wasn’t getting dark at that point… But up in the mountains I could see the sun shining. No such thing for us down here, though!

My poor climbing plant that blossomed way too late is now suffering frost bites!

Now we are watching ” Beat for beat”, the fire is going, new candles are lit- and I bought …Christmas…. beer
I’m getting better, I’ve started antibiotics, and things would be just perfect except for one thing: Bill is getting a cold. So I guess we have been thrown on some sort of seasonal “roller-fever- coaster”. Let’s hope it stops here!

Tomorrow Carly is having friends over for Halloween, she’s turning 15 on Sunday and wants her friends over tomorrow for pizza, movies, chips…. Tonight Kristi went out to eat with friends and will sleep over at one of the friend’s house.
